Sr. Financial Reporting Accountant
Prepares periodic financial statements required for external reporting. Collects and analyzes financial data, ensuring that all reporting is in compliance with SEC and GAAP reporting guidelines. Consolidates entries and accounts to be utilized in financial statements. Prepares internal reports as required. Researches accounting rules and regulations and makes recommendations regarding company policy. May provide support and assistance to external auditors. Requires a bachelor's degree of Accounting or Finance. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.

Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant
Recurring accounting tasks
Reconcile bank statements
Record journal entries, accruals and reconcile the general ledger
Processes ACH payments and monitor AR balances
Reconcile payroll
Record depreciation and amortize prepaid expenses
Oversee accounts payable for accuracy
Fixed Asset maintenance consisting of identifying, reporting, and timely capitalization/disposal of capital projects.
Manage, develop, and supervise accounting payable analyst
Manage the monthly close process
Prepare financial reports
Assist the Finance manager with the day-to-day, monthly, and year-end operations of the Finance department, including budget review and analysis.
Identify opportunities to streamline processes to increase timeliness, efficiency, and improve the accuracy of financial reporting.
Perform other related tasks and projects, as required
Purchase to pay and other internal control supervision
Oversee the ordering and receiving process to ensure tight controls over purchasing
Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures.
Audit and Tax
Work with Audit, Tax, and Valuation firms
Assist in audits and tax filing preparation
Manage with year-end audit and tax work papers, including responding to internal and external audit requests and inquiries.
Qualifications of the Senior Accountant
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or 6 years’ experience in the position of Senior Accountant.
Prior experience in HUD accounting and reporting
Solid knowledge of GAAP (Required). IFRS is Optional
