Seqens is a great place to work and as a Apprentice Quality Control Laboratory Technician you will be working in a busy Laboratory environment with a highly experienced team of Chemists. You will be employed under a 24 month apprenticeship agreement, following the Level 3 Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship Standard. The programme is a blended learning approach of in-person and online training with an End Point Assessment. You will also be mentored by a senior member of the team. The position is available at our Middlesbrough site although you may also be required to work at the Billingham site.
• Analytical testing of raw materials, bulk, intermediate and finished products
• Performing a variety of tests/calibrations to aid in maintenance and certification of test instruments and apparatus.
• Maintaining and operating standard laboratory equipment (e.g. viscometers, pH meters, Gas Chromatographs).
• Preparing reagents, solutions, instruments and apparatus according to procedures to support QC testing activities.
• Recording and interpreting results
• Troubleshooting of analytical and instrument problems
• Performing Sample Dispatch
• Environmental monitoring (MCERTS)
• Working closely with production colleagues and interacting with other departments
• Supporting Shift QC Chemists
Requirements:
Minimum of Grade 4 GCSE in Maths, English and Science (Chemistry preferred)
Must be eligible to work in the UK
Excellent IT skills with experience of Microsoft Word and Excel
Enjoys practical and hands-on approach to work
