Position Context:
The Project Manager / Senior Project Manager (PM) is responsible for managing projects from the time the customer initiates a formal P.O. through completion of the product or service delivery. The Project Manager is responsible for developing best-estimate timelines, and ongoing project tracking against both financial and contractual goals. The PM will also hold various functional groups accountable to meet project timelines, and will facilitate internal/external communications. Lastly, the PM will work closely with senior management and key stakeholders to resolve issues as they arise.
Main tasks :
Summary of Major Responsibilities:
· Manage all aspects of each assigned project, including budget, staffing, project plan, and client deliverables
· Ensure that all project deliverables are of high quality and exceed client’s expectations
· Ensure that Project Management process is executed according Group standards
· Manage relationships within assigned client accounts including routine written, telephone and face-to-face communications
· Facilitate new Change Order creation for assigned projects in cooperation with Business Development
· Track monthly budgetary items for invoicing
· Produce and maintain project plans (Gantt charts, etc.), action registers, detailed meeting minutes, and other project documentation
· Interact and communicate regularly with customers and internal stakeholders
· Align cross-functional teams to execute projects within designated timelines and budget
· Challenge cross-functional teams on deliverables
· Ensure that project priorities are escalated accordingly, and decisions are communicated to internal teams and customers
· Establish agendas and lead team meetings with representation from all Sequens NA functional areas + Seqens R&D or other corporate function
· Analyze project resource needs and review staffing requirements with the appropriate department heads
· Lead project close-out analyses
· Lead other initiatives as needed
Skills Needed:
Successful candidates must be able to communicate in a clear, concise manner. Excellent verbal and written skills are required. Previous experience leading multi-functional teams through successful, complex technical deliveries is essential. Success is defined as the projects being delivered on time and on budget.
Required skills :
Requirements:
A technical degree is preferred (Chemistry or Chemical Engineer , B.S, M.S. or Ph.D). Alternatively, individuals who are non-technical but have extensive experience in managing projects in either the drug substance or drug product industries will also be considered.
· Four to eight years of professional business experience (R&D or Industrialization experience will be highly appreciated)
· Three to five years of Project Management experience
· Management and ownership of project work plans, budgets, invoicing, change of scope, resource allocation and deliverable management
· Demonstrated analytical, organizational, creative problem solving and structured communication skills
· Strong client and vendor relationship skills
· Ability to self-manage and proactively identify prioritized tasks for multiple concurrent projects
· Entrepreneurial spirit, drive, and work ethic
