The position expedites mechanical maintenance activities safely and efficiently to agreed work plans, safety management systems and best working practices in accordance with Health & Safety regulations and Business Objectives to ensure that the performance and availability of mechanical systems meets the standards required to achieve safety, production and environmental targets for the Middlesbrough and Billingham sites.
Implementing planned maintenance tasks and repairing equipment on as needed basis
Carrying out planned preventative maintenance activities
Identifying faults in order to carry out simple and/or complex repairs
Provide technical & troubleshooting support to company personnel in mechanical matters, including breakdowns
Being a key member of the on call rota system & providing out of hours on call support to both sites
Implementing plant improvements as identified by the Maintenance Managers
Daily input into the Chemoxy computerised maintenance management system
Compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental management policies
Ideal candidate would have 5+ years relevant experience in a maintenance role on a COMAH upper tier chemical manufacturing plant
As a minimum, the successful candidate should have a recognized apprenticeship or mechanical fitting/engineering qualification
Must be familiar with repair of pumps, valves and general chemical plant processing equipment
Experience in inspection and repair of rotating equipment
Must be eligible to work in the UK and have full UK driving license
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, self-motivated with a good team ethic
